Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I co-signed on a vehicle for my son, we are both on the contract and his wife was using the vehicle. They are in the process of getting divorced and he was paying for the car in leiu of child support payments. He has since been ordered to pay child support and can not pay both the child support and car payments. How can we get the car back from his soon to be ex-wife, so we can sell it in an effort to save both our credits.
