Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Criminal impersonation

I have a customer who contacted one of my suppliers impersonating me to attain information on costs and payment information on materials that I had purchased for his job. Is this not an illegal act of criminal impersonation and if so what crime was commited and what our my options ?
