Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I filed a civil suit against a public entity located in Town A. The public entity's attorney, located in Town B, responded to my complaint with a Demurrer. Now I want to serve the defendant with a First Amended Complaint. Should I serve it to the public entity in Town A or the attorney in Town B?

Serve it on the attorney for the defendant. Hope you filed a claim first.

Once an attorney has appeared on behalf of a client, you serve the attorney and can serve by mail.
