I would like to find a case, preferably in California, where a judgement was overturned because of judicial prejudice (civil case) and another case where unrelated and legally insufficient documents were used to find judgement.

If you can not find some such cases when you goggle it, go to a local law library and look up in Witkin, Brown On Civil Procedure, etc that general topic. Once you filnd an interestilang case, go to Shepard's Citations and see what activity there has been on that case.
