If someone gets fired for sexual harassment, do they have to register as a sex offender?

No. The requirement to register comes from a criminal conviction by a court, not a personnel decision by an employer. Of course, if the person who was fired is later convicted of a registrable sex offense, he will have to register. That requirement will result from his conviction, not his dismissal.
