Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Hounded by an ex-boyfriend

My ex-boyfried has been sending me angry, often explicit e-mails and phone calls for months. I have asked him to stop repeatedly. Today, I found pictures of my family and myself on his web page. Can he do this? Although no overt threats have been made, the letters are accusatory and increasingly provoking. He has recently been hospitalized for mental illness. Can I stop this harassment before it goes too far?

You don't need a lawyer, you need a gun.

Yes. You can apply for a restraining order if you are fearful that he may become violent and you are emotionally upset by his continued attempts at contact. Your local Court will provide you the forms to file. The web site issue is more difficult to address and may not be actionable depending upon the content of the photos.
