Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

On January 12th I was the victim of a hit and run. I was driving in my work van . I was in the left hand turning lane stopped at a green light waiting for it to be safe to make the left turn. Another van traveling the same direction as I but going straight, side swiped my van and proceeded to keep going without slowing down, braking or pulling over. I then proceeded to go straight to follow the van that hit me hoping it would pull over.?for the next 3 miles I honked my horn trying to get the drivers attention so she would pull over. we finally got a red light and my passenger got out of my van and went up to her driver side wi Dow and told her to please pull over since she had hit my van . We both pulled over and I got her information. She admitted that she knew she hit something but wasn’t sure what it was so she just kept going.she did not have proof of her insurance on her but said she had insurance and gave me her brokers number and I took pics of the damage on her vehicle , my vehicle, and pics of her registration , of her, and her drivers license and exchanged phone numbers. She later called me asking me to not call her insurance she wanted to settle it with cash instead which I told her I did not feel comfortable doing . I filed an online police report and called her broker the next day. I was given a claim number and gave my statement of the accident. Yesterday when i called to find out the status of the claim the adjuster said they were having trouble getting ahold of their insurer. They asked me to try to contact her to tell her to call them. The lady’s response didn’t sound like she had any intentions of calling them back. I have been unable to work since the accident due to my passenger side mirror being broken. It is unsafe to drive a big vehicle like I have without the side view mirror plus I could get a ticket for it. I have already lost out 6 days of work. Income per day that I have lost out on is roughly $500-$1000 dollars a day. I am in need of an attorney . I apologize if I didn’t choose the correct area of law for this question. Please direct me in the right direction if so.

You need to make a claim to YOUR insurance company. They will take care of you. Her insurance company actually has no obligation to you. Your insurance company will fix your vehicle and then go after her and her insurance for reimbursement. For your lost income, you will have to take her to small claims court. The amount is too small for regular court.
