Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

lawsuit name

My ex-spouse filed a high profile lawsuit under her married name. The suit was filed while we were still married but I was not involved. The lawsuit has the potential to affect my name in my industry while my ex-spouse is now using her maiden name . Is there any mechanism to compel a change in name for a pending lawsuit?

Re: lawsuit name

Gag me with a spoon. Anybody in Your Industry who is sufficiently dense not to understand that lawsuits are filed all the time, and you had no power to control your ex-wife's use of your married name, well.... In a word, no, you won't be able to change the caption of her lawsuit. Even if you are a bankable showbiz icon who can open pictures and you have your last name registered as a federal trademark. If it really becomes a problem, you could try publicizing the fact that you had nothing to do with the case. Try PublicistGuru.com .
