Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I loaned my car to my now ex-girlfriend. She got pulled over because the car had modified exhaust. When the officers checked her liscence it came up suspended. My car got towed because she was operating the vehicle with a suspended liscence. I've incurred a great expense trying to get my car back. If I where to take her to court, would she be liable for all the fines incurred as a resuld of the situation?

It would depend on whether you knew her license was suspended. If not, you should be indemnified for any loses.

No, it was your fault the car had a modified exhaust. Her suspended license did not cause your exhaust to be illegal.
