Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

The owner of the building that I live in, did not disclose that a criminal, convicted still on probation is the manager of the building. I have had multiple issues, and do not feel safe. After multiple contacts with no response, I want out of the lease and to have my moving fees paid. He is a billionaire and doesn't care either way. How can I successfully get out and get paid

You probably can't. There is no 'law' against him hiring a felon, nor any requirement to tell you about him, unless the guy is a registered sex offender and disclosure is required because of that. IF, and only if, the guy is creating an actual provable threat to your safety, not just your possibly unreasoning fears, then you could argue that as grounds for breaking the lease, or defense against the landlord's lawsuit against you for breach of lease and damages. You could try to have an attorney write a letter emphasizing your issues to persuade the landlord to let you out. If serious about hiring counsel for that, feel free to contact me.
