Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I purchased a as is used car from a Used car dealership, less than 24 hours the transmission went out. Does the dealer have any responsibility?

This is unfortunate but if it is a used car and there was a conspicuous writing attached to the car explaining that it was being sold on an "as is" basis, the entire risk as to the quality and performance of the car is on the buyer, and if it proves defective, you and not the dealer assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair, then there is no warranty and the dealer has no responsibility. If you knew about the "as is" condition, then you have to pay the costs now. Sorry.
