Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I believe my real estate agent has been stealing from my home. Am I allowed to pose an inquiry in the local paper? Asking if anyone using this person has had similar problems?

The local PD is working with me on this.

And agreed this might help, but I want to know about any liability.

Or if there is any when you don't accuse but rather inquire.

Any and all your help is appreciated.

Thank you Patrice Smith

I don't see why not. The problem is if you use the person's actual name and agency, you can potentially subject yourself to liability - particularly if you cannot prove that your allegation is true.

So, you could post an inquiry stating a generality in a newspaper, but I highly doubt you'd get much response, and it would be more trouble and money than it is worth.

It might be worthwhile to talk to the agent's boss (or agency) and discuss your concerns.
