Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Relationship breakup: Girlfriend of 20 years who was co-habitating with me brought movers and police and took belonging from our apartment. She left some things and has not returned for them. I have asked several time when she is coming to take these things and she does not give me an answer. Can I get rid of her stuff that she left? She has not asked for it. It has been over a month since she moved out. We had no formalized legal partnership/marriage and I did not accept rent from her while she lived with me.

Follow the rules in California Civil Code Sec. 1980 concerning the disposition of personal property that remains after a tenant vacates a unit but leaves personal property on the premises. You may also want to consider mediation to resolve this issue.
