Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I am renewing a Writ of Execution, do I need to serve the defendant with the renewal? and if so do I do it before or after the court has stamped it?

Thank you

You don't serve your application on the defendant (judgment debtor). Once the writ of execution is issued by the court, you deliver it to the sheriff who handles civil process and they serve it in conjunction with the means you have selected for enforcing the judgment.
