Rent Deposit Check cashed illegally

Rent deposit refund check was cashed illegally. Check was mailed in my name to a family member's address. My name was forged and deposited into a third party's account. Besides filing a police report how can I get my money. Can I get my money from the third party's bank? What can I do? Thank you.
