I am serving a summons and Unlawful detainer, when I first went to the house a child answered the door and called the person I was looking for by name and said someone is at the door for him, when he saw me with papers in my hand he said his names was something else, i have gone back 3 times and they wont answer the door and I can hear them inside the house. can I serve as Nail and mail?

In an unlawful detainer case, service by posting ("Nail and Mail") can only be done with court permission. If you are having trouble serving the occupant, contact the attonrey for the landlord and let them know so they can prepare the necessary motion to be filed with the court. Once the court issues the order, request a copy of it order and then comply with the terms of the order.
