Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Smal Claims Court

Monies that is owed to me is on my credit card. How do I figure the total amount owed (interest for each month) when I don't know how long it will take to go to court. Also is the defendant responsible for paying interest for the period of non payment.

Thank you

Re: Smal Claims Court

You sue for the principal amount and ask the court to award interest. In California the legal rate of interest on the judgment is 10 percent.
