Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Tobacco class action suit

I am the son of a woman who died from lung cancer. A class action lawsuit has already been filed by her husband at the time (my stepfather)and from what I understand he won. He is now asking for a lot of information about all of her family and needs our help getting it. We were not named in the lawsuit. Do we have any recourse to some of the money?

I am not sure whether your mother's cause of action was included in the lawsuit. If it was, you may be due part of the award, but should have your own legal representation to ensure you get what should be coming to you. An attorney representing your interests can help get what is owed to you. Sometimes, how much is owed to you is in dispute, and you cannot hope that people will do what is in your interest without an attorney on your side. Please contact my office if you would like representation.
