Vehicle Title Question

I bought a vehicle from an indivdule who said that it was his vehicle he had bought from another person but was waiting for the original owner to produce the title from the DMV as it had been lost, well three months later still no pink. I want the vehicle but I also want to be able to drive it. What do I have do to get the title.

Also one other question: I bought another vehicle from a dealer in So.California, I live in No.Cal, some issues have come up and I need to take them to a small claims court, do I have to go to So.Cal or can I file here and have them come to No.Cal to have the dispute settled. Thank you

It sounds like you are the holder of a vehicle without clean title, possibly a fraudulent sale. Contact the DMV directly and the police in the county where the seller lives.

You have to sue where the defendant is.
