Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Vehicle trade in

I traded in my vehicle for a new truck in April 2009. A few weeks later I learned the loan fell through. The dealership never did a pay out on the trade, so we did an unwind and I gave them back the truck and got my car back. But when they had the car they did $1300 worth of repairs on it. Now I'm stuck with the bill. I also recently learned they loaned the veh out during the 3 week period it was in their possesion. They also are holding my pink slip and my registration until I pay the bill. My complaint is the work should not have been done to the veh until the deal was complete. It should have remained in a hold state until I gave them the check for the truck and I recieved my pay out for the car. What can I do about this? Is there any legal action that can be taken in order to make this bill go away?

Re: Vehicle trade in

Ask the dealer for a copy of the work order you signed. If they cannot provide work order that you signed tell them you do not owe them for the repairs If that does not work then report the situation to the DMV.
