Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hello! My name is Anastasia. I'm originally from Russia and am married to a russian, who had been granted political asylum about 6 months ago. I'm still waiting for my approval (we petitioned for ajustment of my status as an immediate relative). I want to invite my mom to visit me for couple of weeks next year, but I'm not sure what are her chances of getting the visa - and which would be better- tourist or visa by invitation. She has no interest in immigrating here, she is retired now, but I'm still afraid that she'll get denied the visa.

So, should I wait till I get a green card- which will be more then a year from now - or can I try to get a visa for my mom?

Also, if I am approved, can I go to Russia before I apply for GC - with so called "white passport"? and how will it influence the time of getting the green card?

Thank you.

All your mom has to do is to go to US Consulate General and ask for a tourist visa to come to US. You can provide her with a letter to show the Consulate that her expenses will be taken care of by you. As for your intended trip with a 'White Passport' I'd say is a bad idea. Wait till you get the GC.
