Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

AS8 category is the permanent resident category for the residents who got sponsored by the parent who has approved asylum status in US. I am a permanent resident in US for about 1 year and want to go back home to get married.

Glad you clarified. Yes, you can travel back to your country if you already have permanent residence. You can use your green card to be readmitted to the U.S. after your trip, as long as the trip is less than one year. If you only have derivative asylum status through your parent but have not adjusted to permanent residence yet, then it would not be wise to travel to your country as it could jeopardize your asylum status.
