Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Hello. I'm a US citizen and I plan to file I-130 for my parents. Since they are currently in the United States, they can file I-485 concurrently. However, my father had a medical emergency recently. Since he didn't have health insurance, he now owes over $250K in medical bill. My question is: Will I be liable for this debt if I sign and submit I-864 as it's required for I-485 application? If so, how can I avoid it?

Generally you would not be liable to the hospital for his medical bills, but your father himself could sue you if he does not earn at least 125% of the poverty level.
