Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I got COS from L1 (company X) to H1 (company Y) on 01/21/2011. I am serving Notice Period for the company X now. How long can I work on this notice period?

Hi,

As you can hold only one status at a time in the U.S., and as the latest action by the USCIS is grant of change of status to H1B, you are automatically in H1B status as of the effective date of COS and can no longer be legally employed by the L1 employer.
