Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Deportation of a Criminal

If someone has been deported who has a criminal history of domestic violence, drugs, and has lived/worked in the U.S. illegally for iver ten years, what are the chances of that person re-entering the states legally? What are the requirements for the person to come back and is there a waiting period before it's even possible? What if this person has a child in the U.S. and got married while he was going through the deportation process? What steps can be taken to make sure that this cannot be allowed re-entry?
