Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I'm a greencard holder and have been living in the US for more than 10 years. I want to apply for citizenship now but my greencard has recently expired. Do I first need to renew my greencard before I can apply for citizenship or can I apply for citizenship with my expired greencard?

The expired permanent resident card has to be renewed first. Read the instructons to the USCIS form I-90.
