Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I-485 waiting time (employment immigration)

I am applying for an adjustment to permanent residency through employment immigration. My I-485 was submitted on Mar 29, 2002 and my fingerprint was finished on May 2002. Then, I have not heard from the INS, how long will it take the INS to make a decision (or approve the application) on my case? My case was submitted to the California Regional Center.

Re: I-485 waiting time (employment immigration)

The California Service Center is currently processing Adjustment of Status (AOS) Cases received by them on November 16, 2001.

Assuming the AOS processing time moves forward at the rate of one month every month, your case will be processed by August 2003 or later (Nov 2001 to March 2002=5 months)

Please check the California Service Center processing times at our website www.avlawoffice.com from time to time to keep track of the processing time.

They're about 2 years behind. You should ask the attorney who helped you file the I-485 for updates.

Sincerely,
