Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

iam filling for n-400 form naturalization immgration,on part 8,question G-2,is asking about my current spouse, immgration status prioe marriage! iam married with my current husband and before him I never married before, but he was married and divorced from his first wife before he married me. when he married his first wife he was out of status,but he gmarried his first wife who was a u.s. citzen and my husband became a us. citizen, he got divorced from his first wife and 10 years later married me. Now on the part that ask questions about my current husband should i say he was out of status , or us. citizen, because when he married his first wife he was out of status and when he married me he was a us. citizen?,and the question has three option,us citizen, permanent residence, or other. refer to n-400 application, part 8, G2, to unerstand my question.
