Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I want to become a legal permanent resident but i got an "assault with deadly weapon" back in 1990. I don't know if I could still become one with that type of charge and plus three additional misdemenaors from other problems i had. I have never had problems when renewing my card and so i just want to make sure before i spend the money. I would appreciate any helpful advise and contact information thank you.

As your crime was committed before 1996 then you seem to be eligible for a 212(c) waiver which overcomes the crime. You should be ok to renew green card; and if a problem arises the waiver should protect you. You cannot avoid renewing your green card in any case.

As I dont have all the information on your case - THIS IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS ANY TYPE OF ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP LEGAL ADVICE.
