Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

How long does it take for me to get fiance visa for my girlfriend? and what paper work would be needed to get such a visa? I'm a US citizen and I like to bring my girlfriend (soon to be engaged) from Iran.

Thank you for your advice and guidance.

Have you met your girlfriend/fiancee in person at least once within the past two years?

If yes, as a US citizen, you can file a Fiancee visa petition on the form I-129F. When approved (usually, 4-5 months), it will be forwarded for visa processing at one of the US consulates in that area (Iran doesn't have a US embassy). It can take additional several months. The evidence of your finances and/or affidavit of support will be required as well.

You need to submit your petition for alien fianc(e) including the supporting documents evidencing that you have met in person within two years before filing your petition. Currently the USCIS takes approximately four months to process this kind of petitions. The processing will take another 3-6 months at the appropriate US consulate.
