Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Lost of Citizenship

Hi,

Recently I have became an US citizen. Previously, I had a resident card and to my understanding, I was not allow to stay overseas longer than 6 month, else my residence status will be suspended. In views of a possible work assignment outside the US, I like to know if there is any kind of limitation or jeopardy of loosing my US citizenship if I stay for 18 month or longer. Also how long do I have to stay in the US before I go? (I have heard that one must remain in the US for 2 years after the date one becomes citizen or else citizenship could be lost) Any input? What does the law indicates?

Thanks,

FC.

Re: Lost of Citizenship

No such law. Permanent residents have restrictions on how long they can stay outside the US and it seems you're confusing those with your own. Once you're a naturalized citizen, you can live and work anywhere.
