Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Remarry a non-US citizen with a quick divorce certificate

I'd like to get a Mexican quick divorce, but I need to know exactly what papers INS requires to accept the validality of a Mexican quick divorce (in Tijuana) to remarry a non US citizen, for him to attain a US residency. What documents are needed certified from the US embassy to comply with INS requirements.

My fiance is here in the US w/ a student visa that is expired already and we want to get married, for love not for the sole purpose of him achieving a US residency!

I"ll be getting an uncontested divorce, I have been separated 3 years from my husband and moved to California, he stayed in the state of Virginia. The divorce is in accordance between us.

thank you

You should obtain a final divorce order from the Mexican government. You can get the document notarized and authenticated by the US embassy. INS will accept the document if it is properly authenticated by the State Department.

However, if you are not a US citizen, maybe you will not be able to help your fiancee immediately even if you were divorced!
