Starting business in H1-B status

I am here on H1-B Visa and Can I legally start a part-time business on my own?

Re: Starting business in H1-B status

An H-1b visa is based upon the U.S. employer's petition. So you would not be able to start your own part-time business on the side. However, if another U.S. employer wants to hire you part time, they could certainly file a separate H-1b petition on your behalf to work for them in addition to your current employer.
