Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Bad Faith

Can a carrier deny a claim based upon info they knew was not right on an insurance application because they had documetntation in thier own file records on an error in the app? example clients had a dog the insurance company discovered when inspecting the property and still chose to insure property, now that there is a fire claim they want to deny it based upon an undisclosed dog? can they do this and not pay the claim?

Re: Bad Faith

Denying fire coverage based on nondisclosure of a pet seems a bit outrageous. As an attorney I would not mind in taking such a case to trial. Please contact me should you need legal help. Otherwise I wish you good luck.
