Re: Cobra and Medical/Dental Insurance waiting periods

Waiting periods vary from policy to policy. You should check the new policy guidelines to find out what the waiting period is. If there is one, you may want to wait to cancel the policy you are changing from until the waiting period on the new policy is over. Sometimes, the waiting period is only for pre-existing conditions. If you do have pre-existing conditions you may definately want to check into keeping both policies until the new one will cover everything. If all else fails, call the insurance company and request written confirmation of the policy coverage and waiting period guidelines.

Sincerely,

Re: Cobra

There should be no difference since the dental is

a form of health insurance. If you are not sure,

call the plan administrator.
