You should contact the attorney or insurance company who wrote to you and explain that you weren't involved in the accident. In fact, if you were at work or elsewhere and can obtain or possess documents to show you were elsewhere, you could provide a copy to the writer. One would hope that should be the last of it. Frequently people with similar names in a locality can be confused for each other.
