Collaborative story writing

Id like to start a collaborative story writing blog/website. Users will be able to log in and add to a story. My question is, if the blog ends up making money through advertising or if the story is published, do the contributors have a right to compensation?

Depends on how your user agreements and Terms of Service handle things.

Don't try to do this yourself... you're going to need good, solid legal help from someone familiar with both entertainment and internet issues.

As the owner of the copyright of one's writing, the respective author could pull it and try to participate in any earnings. Suggestion: upon login have everyone click-agree on an assignment of copyright to you.
