Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Copyrighting Graphics

If I have 20 graphics that I would like to copyright, can I have all 20 graphics printed on one page and do a single submission or is it required that they are done individually?

If they can be done together, will each graphic be protected by itself of only when together?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Copyrighting Graphics

Have you considered placing one on each of 20 pages, then submitting the 20 pages as a booklet, copyrighting the booklet as a single creative work? I think your protection is about as good however you do it, but for clarity, simplicity and low cost consider a 20-page booklet. The copyright laws should afford decent protection of your 'original creative works' however they are reduced to a fixed medium.

For procedural details there are several good paperback self-help books available for sale and at libraries on how to prepare and submit applications for copyrights. These tend to be aimed at artists and authors and don't presuppose any legal knowledge.
