Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

I have an idea for a sign that I want to produce for sale. Can I copyright the sign? The sign is all words concerning forms of payment taken.

A trademark attorney will say copyright will not protect a slogan. You need to use trademark (or service mark) protection. There are many technical issues in protecting a slogan, so consult with a trademark attorney in your area for specifics.
