Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Im a makeup artist that just finished on a movie that is to be released nationwide in over 3000 theaters next week. It has come to my attention that i am in a scene in which i am very visible. It is a scene in a non public place. I never signed a release and I am very unhappy with how I look in this being that I have lost weight since then. Please let me know if I have a case. Thank you also please tell me what type of attorney i would need.

As a practical matter, aren't you afraid that if you sued, this would impair your ability to get more work assignments from the studio? Unless you can prove actual damages, I doubt it would be worth it to sue. And you probably don't look as bad as you think. Your friends and family will be impressed that you're in the movie -- and when they meet you, maybe they'll notice that you've lost weight! But if you are intent on suing, you could go to small claims court for up to $7500 without a lawyer.

You may have a claim for payment as an 'extra', whatever that rate now is, $50 a day or something.

You just found out? I dont know what else your damages would be or how to prove them. It is probably late to edit the movie. There may be a law if I research the issue, perhaps something under employment.
