Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Possible Patent Infringement

We believe that several companies may be

infringing on our patent, we would like to

understand the legal process for notification of

such concerns or do we just let them continue

with commercial sales of the products? The

patent which evolves around Wirless/GPS and

Vehicle Telematics is estimated to produce $4

Billion in revenue in the next 4 years...we want to

ensure that we are protected in the event that we

would ever choose to pursue litigation.

Re: Possible Patent Infringement

You should take action to protect your patent. This includes informing the infringing companies to cease and desist violating the patent. You have further remedies including suit for damages, injunction, etc.

However, you should take action immediately once you know of the infringement.
