Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

replica handbags

YOu mentioned in earlier post that a person can sell replica handbags if they just pay a licensing fee to the handboag company like department store. My question is that a realistic request and even obtainable from a designer?

Re: replica handbags

And what, if Louis Vuitton or Calvin Klein wants an amount for a license that you think is too much money, that gives you the right to steal their designs?

Re: replica handbags

I think it depends on the designer, and the replica maker.

If the handbag is an old, classic design that the designer is no longer manufacturing, it MIGHT be feasible to obtain a license to sell "designer authorized replicas"... but if it's a current design or style... probably not very likely.

The point is, it's illegal unless you obtain the license... so you MUST ask... whether it's realistic or feasible.
