Legal Question in Employment Law in California

direct deposit

I just began working for a bank and they offer direct deposit, but the only way to be able to get i, is to have your paycheck direct deposited into one of their checking or savings accts. I already have both accts elsewhere I never encountered this problem working with other financial institutions. Is it legal? I think its a sort of discrimination because they are not offering direct deposit to employees who choose to bank elsewhere.

Re: direct deposit

Direct deposit is a convenience offered by some employers. They don't have to do it at all. You can opt to receive a check in lieu of direct deposit.
