Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Famous Employer Owes Me Money

I used to work for a restaurant who has a very well known owner. All I need is for them to re-issue two checks that are not valid anymore. I keep calling and the manager keeps putting it off saying the owner is not in and I do not know what to do. I left numerous messages with people and on the answering machine, but no one has returned my calls or shown any interest in helping me get my money that I worked for. Please help and thank you for your time.

Re: Famous Employer Owes Me Money

These checks were wages? You can write a note, mail, keep a copy; demand the checks be issued or you file a complaint with the CA Labor Board for nonpayment of wages and penalties. Why the checks are invalid is important, but you don't offer the facts.
