Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Is it legal for a Managing Partner of a law firm to send an email to Associate attorneys demanding they donate to a charity the company is backing? What is pertinent California Code section?

IF, as implied, you are an attorney, you should know there is no 'code' or illegality in this. There is a 'free speech' or election law issue, cutting both ways. More to the point, if you complain, object or refuse and are retaliated against, you would then have a claim of rights violation. If that happens, feel free to contact me.
