Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I have been receiving unemployment benefits in California since March 2017. The company that laid me off asked if I could help train a new hire and offered a well paying 2 week independent contractor agreement. If I accept, will I be able to re-open my unemployment claim once the contract is complete?

I believe so, but the best thing to do is just contact the Employment Development Department and ask them, since they will be the ones who make the decision.
