Legal Question in Employment Law in California

If I tender my resignation from a job, can the employer legally terminate me after the fact? Or does the resignation supersede termination?

It depends when each was effective. If you resign on two weeks notice and they terminate you on the spot the next day, the termination is effective over the resignation.
