Legal Question in Employment Law in California

termination notice to employer

Are at-will employment contracts where the employer can terminate the agreement with cause at any time, but the employee must give substantial notice (3 months) legal? Sounds inequitable. I am in such a situation now and concerned about being sued for breach.

Re: termination notice to employer

Please clarify your question:

1. Are you an employee or employer?

2. What do you mean by "employer can terminate the agreement with cause at any time?"

This conflicts with "at will" provision as with "good cause" means that an employee can only be terminated for a relatively serious reason.
