Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I work in a Dormitory called Taylor Hall in Fremont, CA. My sister works in the same dorm and she is a the Housing Coordinator. I was interviewed by her as well as her boss. I was hired and did all of my paper work through HR, where they were told the fact that I was being hired to work under my sister. I was hired about six months ago, but now the HR department has a problem that I am working here. I was told that a couple of students went over there to complain about the fact that I was getting special treatment. The HR department now wants to transfer me to the school instead of working at the dorms. Is there anyway that I can stop them from doing that? Is there any legal precedent for this?

No. You are an at-will employee. They can assign you where ever they think you will work best. If you don't like it you are free to quit.
