30 day notice rights

I live in an apartment and signed a 12 month lease which ends Nov. 3rd. I gave my written 30 days notice more then 30 days in advance. Come Nov 3rd, time to move out, the management company states that because I did not fill out their 30 day notice form they are going to hold me an extra 30 days responsible. Do have the legal right to turn my keys in on the 3rd and they can not legally hold me responsible for those extra 30 days?

If you gave written notice, that is sufficient in any court. What it must show is an intent to vacate and the time frame you will be vacating. Tell managment to stuff it.

You gave them 30 days notice. If the lease does not specify that you have to use their special form, then you are under no obligation to do so. In either case, they were put on notice of your intention to vacate whether or not you used their form. Sounds ridiculous to me. If they hold any money back, take the LL to small claims court.
